Littles Receive Niner United Award

Pastor Dick Little and Cherie Little were awarded for their exemplary support of Niner United.

Niner United, the Campus Ministry of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC) recently awarded Dick & Cherie Little with the Loy Witherspoon Distinguished Service Award on November 10 at a reception in their honor. The award is given annually for exemplary support of Niner United, the combined Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, and Lutheran campus ministry. The Rev. Steve Cheyney is Niner United’s campus minister.

Bishop Tim said, “I was so honored to present (this award) to two of my favorite people, Dick and Cherie Little!” Pastor Dick Little, now retired, served several NC Synod congregations including Advent, Charlotte, which is across the street from the campus of UNCC. Cherie recently served on NC Synod Council and the synod’s Peeler/Casey Funds Committee. The Littles are members of Morning Star, Matthews.
