Members of Grace Lutheran Church, Raleigh, gathered donated foods for the Crisis Center at North Raleigh Ministries. In addition, using a $250 Thrivent Action Team Grant, three members of Grace purchased foods and household supplies that were highest on the list of needs for the Crisis Center. After worship and a brief lunch on September 11, God’s work. Our hands. Sunday, 35 Grace members of all ages filled a caravan of cars with the donated and purchased food and supplies and delivered them to the Crisis Center. The Crisis Center staff and volunteers explained the wonderful work that North Raleigh Ministries does to help people in crisis. As well as food and supplies, recipients receive opportunities for educational classes to help them make changes in their lives to cope better with life’s difficulties. These classes are also given in Spanish as well as English. For 90 minutes, their staff led us in activities to fill Back Pack Buddies packages and to check and sort canned goods for donations. Everyone enjoyed the time together and felt good about our service with North Raleigh Ministries.
