Relief for the hungry

Esther’s Heart is a non-profit ministry in Concord committed to serving God and the needs of others through character empowerment, support, encouragement, motivation and hunger relief. Thanks to a grant from the synod’s Peeler/Casey Funds, Esther’s Heart was able to fill backpacks to go home with hungry children for a month of weekends.
During 2016, seventeen different groups helped fill 4,595 bags which fed children at six area schools in addition to others in need indicated by social service agencies. Esther’s Heart says, “We welcome the opportunity to impact the lives of youth to make a difference in their families, schools, communities and the Kingdom of God.”

A grant from the synod’s Michael Peeler/Virginia Casey Funds was given to help Esther’s Heart feed the hungry. What ministry near you needs help? Apply by June 30.
