Water Purifying Kits Help in Two Ways

As students assemble the kits, they experience purpose and success; now, you can help make a difference!

March 4, 2026 |

Clean water flows freely for many of us, but around the world, safe drinking water is not guaranteed. Thrivent’s water filtration program connects purifying kits to communities in need.

Amy Huebner, wife of Pastor Jason Huebner (Saint Peter, Southport), is a teacher at COAST High School in Bolivia, NC, and she’s using these kits in a service project for her alternative class. Students have already assembled a dozen systems donated by Saint Peter’s Thrivent members. Now, Amy is inviting Thrivent members across the synod to contribute. As students assemble the kits, they experience purpose and success while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

How can you participate in this project?

  1. Pray for the students assembling the filters and for those needing clean water.
  2. If you are a Thrivent member, order a kit by April 1, 2026, and send it to Amy’s class.

Follow this guide for ordering instructions!
