Tammy Jones West and deans installed

One of the highlights of this year’s assembly was the installation of Deacon Tammy Jones West as assistant to the bishop. Tammy has been serving on synod staff as Director of Youth and Family Ministries (and, more recently, Director of Leadership & Discipleship) since 1994. Her appointment to serve as Assistant to the Bishop was confirmed by a synod council vote at their December 2017 meeting.

Tammy’s marvelous leadership and incredible ministry have influenced many, many youth and young adults, a number of whom now serve as rostered ministers in our synod and across the church. Assembly applause was breaking through the installation and, finally, permission was granted for a standing ovation!
