St. Luke’s, Tyro, writes notes of gratitude
St. Luke’s, Tyro, worked on several “God’s Work, Our Hands Sunday” projects, including writing notes of encouragement.
Members of St. Luke’s, Tyro, wrote notes of gratitude and encouragement to members of our U.S. Armed Services. Luther Rose magnets were enclosed in the envelopes addressed and mailed shortly after the day of service. Additionally, cards were personalized for local community shut-ins and hand-delivered with chicken pies to express care and encouragement. A grant from Thrivent Financial helped with purchase of the supplies. St. Luke’s also hosted an American Red Cross Blood Drive collecting needed supplies of rare blood types. Children of the church and invited family and friends have joined the new KIDS CLUB which meets the first Sunday of each month following worship. The first event was a scavenger hunt to find and free Martin Luther by answering clues which led to puzzle pieces that, when assembled, created a Luther Rose and revealed Martin’s whereabouts. It took teamwork! Each child carried home a Martin Luther Doll, a Luther Rose magnet, and a story of their adventure to share. Looks like this club is off to a triumphant start thanks to their creative leaders dedicated to sharing lessons in faith with our youngest members!
