Sharing Joy Across the Synod

3rd-5th graders gather for YouthQuake!

November 29, 2023 |

Youthquake is a gathering for 3rd-5th grade from across the North Carolina Synod for fellowship, learning, service, and worship.

This year’s leadership wanted to make the event more accessible to all youth within this age group across the state, so the synod hosted TWO Youthquake events—a Western Gathering at Lutheridge and an Eastern Gathering at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Raleigh.

Participants learned about three faith practices: giving, service, and worship. With an event name like Youthquake, you know these young people weren’t expected to sit still the whole time; instead, they learned through games, crafts, and a service project! It was so much fun!

This group shared joy with one another and inspired synod leaders with their creativity and good sense of humor. One participant even told Pastor Cassie Overcash that when he grows up he wants to be a camel!
