The ELCA Virginia Synod’s Bishop Installation will take place on Saturday, October 21 at First Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service at Grace Lutheran Church located at 500 S. Wayne Avenue, Waynesboro. The Rev. Dr. Phyllis Blair Milton was elected June 11 to serve a six-year term; she is the first female bishop and first African-American Bishop in the history of the Virginia Synod. She began her ministry as Bishop on September 1.
