Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Durham, (CVLC) was introduced to the brand new Parent Teacher Association(PTA)  at Lowe’s Grove Middle School through a mutual friend. Since then, CVLC has supported the PTA in numerous ways—including stumbling across another community friend who paid their liability insurance so they could hold events.

On this God’s work. Our hands. (GWOH) Sunday, September 10,  CVLC worked with the PTA president and principal of the school to remove old furniture from their courtyard, weed and mulch, paint bathrooms, and decorate the hallways with inspirational signs. Tomeka Everett, the PTA president, said, “I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you pulling together your congregation to come over and support Lowe’s Grove once again, you really have become a true village to Lowe’s Grove and for that I say thank you!”

After GWOH Sunday, we realized the bathrooms still had some work that needed to be done. After worship on Sunday, September 24, we went back and finished the job with Principal Austin painting with us.
