Tell It! videos make Bible stories new

Each year, Engage the Bible (the synod’s Book of Faith task group) holds a video competition. Youth groups across the synod are encouraged to create a video telling a Bible story. Videos are submitted and the top ones are brought to the LYO assembly each February where they are premiered. The LYO attendees vote for their favorite video, and prizes are awarded. This year’s top four videos (with links to see them) are as follows:

4th place: Emmanuel, High Point – retelling of Acts Going Viral (retelling of Acts chapters 2-4)

3rd place: Macedonia, Burlington – The God-Off (Elijah’s challenges Baal’s worshipers)

2nd place: Christ the King, Cary – The Cost of Grace (Jesus cleanses the Temple)

1st place: St. Philip, Raleigh – Creation Story Trailer  (Creation and fall into sin)

The assembly enjoyed watching each of the videos. It was good for people to see the creativity, humor, passion, and faith of our youth as they engaged in biblical stories.

Story:  Pastor Jennifer Shimota Krushas serves alongside the people of Emmanuel in High Point.
