Advent invites preparation while waiting. As we anticipate the nativity, we also prepare to support North Carolina’s 360,000 undocumented neighbors, many living with U.S. citizens or legal residents. The NC Council of Churches will host Advent information sessions, “Waiting with Purpose: Standing with our Undocumented Neighbors this Advent,” on Mondays, December 2-23, at noon, to equip communities to help keep families together. With new laws requiring sheriffs to notify ICE when undocumented individuals are detained, it’s vital to learn how to assist before ICE intervenes. Join us to act faithfully and effectively.
