Event Description
On Monday, November 4, at 7:00 p.m.—on the night before Election Day—all are invited to a brief Election Eve Prayer Service via Zoom (and streamed live on Facebook and YouTube), hosted by the Office of the Bishop.
Regardless of the countless contradicting hopes, visions, and fears we each have for this country, we recognize that, above all, we are one in Christ. The night before the election, at our most anxious and divided, we come together for a moment of prayer. We pray for peace, for wisdom, and for the unity of God’s church—held in grace, mercy, and love, despite our failings. As fallible humans in a broken world, we are called to lament our faults and remind each other that we are beloved children of God, members together of God’s own household.
The service will end with a time of silent prayer and contemplation.
After the liturgy, the live stream will end and there will be an opportunity for fellowship and conversation for any attendees who choose to linger on Zoom.
